after having sex how long would herpes take to show up?

Just got out of A year relationship 5 months ago, so i know im clean. A week ago I had sex with a guy I use to date,. However after having one nite of rough sex my vagina hurts Iches,stings when i pee.It sounds like all the symptoms of herpes right. ,but it doesnt look like it. It feels just RAW. How long will this last? And does herpes show up in just a week?

Herpes symptoms can come up anywhere from a day or two after sex to ... never. Most people who have herpes don't know that they have it because they've never had symptoms. For people who do have symptoms, they often arise within the first week after exposure - but for some it may take longer before their first outbreak.

If you've never been tested for STDs, then you really can't be sure that you don't have one. Five months without symptoms does NOT mean that you are "clean."

Your symptoms could indeed be herpes. They could also be a urinary tract infection, some kind of irritation (from something your new guy put on his skin) or just the results of a night of rough sex.

I would make an appointment to see your doctor. If the symptoms are still there, have her take a look at them - but either way, go ahead and get a complete STD panel. Just to be sure.
